Room types

Typical rooms and sizes

Bedroom · 10–15 m²

Cleaning one room takes 30–45 minutes. The bed and bedside tables are moved aside for the duration if needed.

Living room · 20–35 m²

The most common booking. The sofa and coffee table are moved temporarily and put back in place after cleaning.

Hallway or entrance · 5–15 m²

A small but often heavily soiled area. Usually combined with the rest of the cleaning.

Stairwell (housing company) · 30–80 m²

Cleaning of communal areas. Agreed with the property manager and marked with "wet floor" signs.

Materials

Which wall-to-wall carpets we clean

Synthetic fibres
Polyamide, polypropylene, polyester — the most common modern wall-to-wall carpet. Withstands hot-water deep cleaning well, drying time 6–12 h.
Wool
A gentler wash with a neutral pH. Drying time 12–24 h. Suitable only for professional hot-water deep cleaning — a wet wash would damage the wool.
Blends
Wool-synthetic or plant-fibre blends. We check the material before cleaning, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Old parquet floors and carpets
Special cases in older buildings. We visit and assess the site before quoting if the material is uncertain.
Stains

Which stains we can remove

  • Red wine, coffee, tea — usually completely, provided the stain has not been left to dry for weeks
  • Pet urine and vomit stains — a thorough enzyme treatment also removes the odours
  • Grease stains (greasy food, candle wax, cosmetics) — almost always completely
  • Ink or make-up stains — most often removable, but the result depends on the fibre structure
  • Old, unidentified stains — we tell you before cleaning what we are likely to get out

Stain removal is always part of the base price for wall-to-wall carpet cleaning — we never charge for it separately.

Preparation

Before cleaning

  • We move ordinary furniture aside and back again after cleaning. Larger or particularly delicate pieces are agreed in advance.
  • It is helpful to move personal items, toys and loose rugs off the floor before we arrive.
  • We vacuum the room before the hot-water deep cleaning — there is no need to vacuum beforehand.
  • A power outlet and a water point are needed near the area; we use a standard 230 V socket.
After cleaning

Drying time and getting back to normal

Drying time is 6–24 hours depending on the room’s ventilation and temperature — faster in summer, longer in winter. We recommend avoiding walking directly on the wet carpet for the first 4–6 hours. During that time the carpet may feel a little damper than it appears on the surface. You can enter the room in socks even sooner, and full use returns by the next day.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can a wall-to-wall carpet be cleaned on-site without lifting it?

Yes, and that is exactly how it is done. A wall-to-wall carpet is fixed to the floor, so it cannot be taken to a cleaner like a loose rug — we always clean it on-site, at home or in the office. We bring the equipment with us, and you do not need to lift, transport or arrange anything. Drying time is 6–24 hours depending on the room’s ventilation.

How often should a wall-to-wall carpet be cleaned?

A general rule: every 1–2 years. For allergy-prone households and homes with pets or small children, the recommended interval is 6–12 months. Regular vacuuming extends the intervals.

How long does the carpet take to dry?

Drying time is usually 6–24 hours and depends significantly on the room’s ventilation. In a well-ventilated space the carpet dries faster; in a damper or more confined space drying takes longer. We recommend airing the room after the visit.

What is the household tax credit and how does it work?

The household tax credit (kotitalousvähennys) is a deduction granted by the Finnish Tax Administration for work done at home. In 2026 the credit for cleaning and care work is 35% of the labour portion, and it is granted in your taxation. It is calculated automatically and indicatively in the quote. More information: vero.fi/kotitalousvahennys.
