Textile flooring care
Textile flooring care is fibre-specific cleaning of delicate textile surfaces — wool, silk, sisal and natural-fibre blends — carried out on-site. We identify the material and choose the method according to the manufacturer’s instructions, so the fibre is not damaged. Prices from €12/m² (VAT 0%), drying time 6–24 h.

What you get
- Material identification before cleaning
- Gentle, fibre-specific method
- Colour revival and protective treatment
- Treatment with no chemical residue
When is textile flooring care needed?
Standard hot-water deep cleaning of wall-to-wall carpet suits most synthetic materials. Textile flooring care is needed when the fibre is more delicate or more valuable — for example silk, fine wool, sisal or natural-fibre blends. In these cases the wrong method can damage the fibre permanently: shrinkage, colour bleeding or pilling of the fibre. We always use the method recommended by the material’s manufacturer, and if the material is uncertain we first carry out a small test clean in an inconspicuous spot.
Materials and methods
- Silk
- A very gentle dry clean or low-moisture method. Never hot water, because silk shrinks and loses its sheen. Colours are tested before the whole area is treated.
- Fine wool
- Neutral pH and a low temperature. Drying time 12–24 h. We avoid alkaline products, because wool is by nature an acid-friendly fibre.
- Sisal and other plant fibres
- Very low moisture — sisal absorbs water and can wrinkle or grow mould if cleaned incorrectly. We mainly use dry-cleaning methods.
- Natural-fibre blends
- Material identification always comes first. We clean to the weakest fibre, so the blend’s most delicate component is not damaged.
Risks and precautions
- Colour bleeding — we always test before cleaning the whole area, especially with dark and hand-dyed textiles
- Fibre shrinkage — temperature and moisture are always kept below the material’s tolerance
- Pilling — we use the right brush for the fibre, never one that is too coarse
- Odours — natural fibres may give off a faint sheep or natural-material smell while damp, which disappears as they dry
If the material is unidentifiable or valuable (e.g. a handmade Oriental rug), we recommend an inspection before we give a quote — this is free of charge.
Colour revival and protective treatment
During cleaning we can carry out a colour revival that brings faded areas closer to their original shade. A protective treatment (e.g. a Scotchgard-type product) helps prevent future staining and extends the interval to the next clean. Both add-on services are agreed together with the quote; we will not apply a protective treatment to a textile if the product could react adversely with the material.
